Accept as it is
Disappointments, setbacks, disasters are unavoidable part of life.
We all face problems of different kinds.
To solve them, we must accept them first, especially the things in life we cannot change.
Only after you accept them fully, you will be able to figure out what you can do with them, to make lemonade out of lemons.
In Chinese, crisis is composed of two characters: 危机。 “危” means “risk“ and “danger”, but “机“ means “opportunity”. When there is a problem/crisis, there is an opportunity. They exist together. If you do not accept what is, but resist them, you will not able to see “opportunity” that accompanies a risk.
sometimes problems/crisis exists more in your minds, and your perceptions than in reality, because the situation does not conform to your preconceptions of how the world/people/things “should be”. To accept, you must learn to think beyond the boundaries of your own limitation. Let go of the idea of what “should be” and be open to what “could be”.
Epictetus advised in the 1st AD, “happiness and freedom begin with a clear understanding of one principle: some things are within our control,, and somethings are not it is only after you have faced up to this fundamental rule and learned to distinguish between what you can and cannot control that inner tranquility and out effectiveness become possible,”
